The keys felt heavier than they should have — the good kind of heavy. Our first home together is mostly cardboard boxes and enthusiastic plans right now, but it’s ours.
We’ve already learned important things: which side of the bed is whose (still negotiating), that neither of us can assemble flat-pack furniture, and that a home isn’t really about the furniture at all.
There’s a specific happiness in doing the boring stuff — groceries, laundry, figuring out the wifi — with your favourite person. We’ll take it.
